The Apostolic Delegation is located in Jerusalem.  It was one of the venues where Pope Paul VI and Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras met in 1964.

To commemorate that historic event, the room where Pope Paul VI and Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras met has two notable items commemorating that historic moment.

The first is a prominent a glazed terra cotta frieze by the Italian sculptor Angelo Bianchi, commemorating the historic encounter.

A painting commemorating the embrace of the Pope and Ecumenical Patriarch also graces the room where the historic encounter took place.

Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will have a Tete-a-Tete meeting in the same room in the Apostolic Delegation on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
