Statement by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial (Jerusalem, 27 May 2014)
All who descend into the inner chamber of the
museum are free to walk away when they chose,
and return to the sunlight. Such was not the
case for these 1.5 million children whose lives
were taken from them through hatred and
unspeakable violence.

Patriarchal Exhortation by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the Orthodox Delegations (Jerusalem, May 26, 2014)
It is our God-given mandate to bring
discipleship to the world around us. And by
discipleship, we mean the discipline bequeathed
to us by our Lord to have compassion for one
another and the natural environment. We are
called and commanded to share with others the
gifts that we have received and the joy that we
have experienced on this Holy Mountain of Zion
and in the Holy City of Jerusalem.

Toast by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Dinner Hosted by His Holiness Pope Francis (Jerusalem, May 25, 2014)
This meal comes at the end of a long journey,
which began for Your Holiness at the West and
for our Modesty in the East. We have arrived in
the place where East and West converge, to the
roots of our very existence as Christians, the
place where our Lord was born, taught, suffered
the Cross, rose from the dead, ascended into
heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to constitute
His Church.

Speech by Pope Francis During The Holy Sepulchre Ecumenical Celebration (Jerusalem – 25.05.2014)
In this Basilica, which all Christians regard
with the deepest veneration, my pilgrimage in
the company of my beloved brother in Christ, His
Holiness Bartholomaios, now reaches its
culmination. We are making this pilgrimage in
the footsteps of our venerable predecessors,
Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras, who,
with courage and docility to the Holy Spirit,
made possible, fifty years ago, in this holy
city of Jerusalem, an historic meeting between
the Bishop of Rome and the Patriarch of
Constantinople.

Homily by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Joint Prayer Service (Holy Sepulcher, May 25, 2014)
It is with awe, emotion and respect that we
stand before “the place where the Lord lay,” the
life-giving tomb from which life emerged. And we
offer glory to the all-merciful God, who
rendered us, His unworthy servants, worthy of
this supreme blessing to become pilgrims in the
place where the mystery of the world’s salvation
transpired.

Address by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at The Concelebration with His Beatitude Patriarch Of Jerusalem, Theophilos at The Church Of Our Lord’s Resurrection (25 May 2014)
We also, together with our brother Pope Francis
and the Roman Catholic world, have come to this
place in humility and gladness, and with fear
and trembling, to experience a small taste of
the mystery of the divine commandment “that they
may be one”, the mystery of prayer and service
and the journey that the Orthodox and Roman
Catholic churches have taken together after
centuries of alienation these past fifty years,
which have been a new period of dialogue for
both sides. In this dialogue, we pray for divine
illumination that we may not fall into error,
without stumbling in word, and that we may be
delivered from the errors of division, hatred,
persecution, genocide, and racism.

You, the youth of Bethlehem, are the hope and
the future of your homeland. Remain faithful to
your historical mission and preserve
unextinguished the flame of our Orthodox faith
in this land, where the Lord initiated His work
of salvation for the whole world. Your presence
here as Orthodox Christians is of immense
importance. Continue your work with the same
passion. May God be with you!
